France have won the inaugural edition of the Star Sixes World Cup after defeating Denmark 2-1 at O2 Arena on Sunday evening.
Goals from Ludovic Giuly and Youri Djorkaeff’s fired Les Bleus to World Cup glory as Daniel Jensen counted as mere consolation.

Surprise package of the championship, Denmark failed to repeat the fluency and brilliance of their 4-2 semi-final romp against Brazil.
Brazil suffered further humiliation as Spain silenced them 11-3 to claim the third place prize.

Michel Salgado finished as competition’s topscorer with nine goals, while Denmark’s Martin Jogensen was named Star of the tournament.
Nigeria’s dream of the legends’ diadem was quashed in the quarterfinal after bowing 8-1 to Spain, with Yakubu Aiyegbeni getting the lone strike.
